Hawaii Administrative Rules chapter 4-71, “Non-Domestic Animal Import Rules”, the Board of Agriculture maintains the following list of non-domestic animals:
List of Prohibited Animals
List of Restricted Animals (Part A and Part B)
List of Conditionally Approved Animals
Animals found on the List of Prohibited Animals are prohibited from entry into the State. Any cat or dog hybrid whereby one or both parents are prohibited or restricted and crossed with a domestic cat or dog are prohibited under HAR section 4-71-6. Prohibited Animals: The regulation of animal breeds and species that are permitted to enter Hawaii is under Plant Quarantine Branch jurisdiction and administrative rules. Non-domestic dogs and cats and hybrids such as wolf, wolf cross, Dingo, Bengal, Savannah, etc are prohibited under Plant Quarantine (PQ) law. Refer to Plant Quarantine’s animal guidelines for importation.
